WHO PROTECTS THE CITIZENS OF TRIESTE, THREATENED BY ITALIAN NATIONALISTS WHICH ARE COVERED BY THE ITALIAN AUTHORITIES?
It is happening in Trieste. The Italian State doesn’t want to give up. Under law and right, they have no possibility to fight back the licit instances of the citizens, which are demanding respect of both the international treaties establishing the juridical status of Free Territory for Trieste and the Italian laws assimilate.
The latest judgments emitted by administrative justice are the ultimate demonstration of that. Justices don’t know what to do anymore to demonstrate what cannot be demonstrate, meaning that the Italian State actually has sovereignty over Zone A of the Free Territory of Trieste, which also includes the International Free Port of Trieste and its free zones.
But the citizens don’t give up despite the intimidation that the judiciary authority widely spread in the past two years of struggle within the courts of justice. Each appeal they reject has heavy economic fees charged on the appellants annexed to it. And this is immediately published by the newspaper “Il Piccolo”, monopolist paper and information organ of the occupying State.
Communication is important in this battle. The Italian authorities use the media, almost all of these are under their strict control, used to terrify the citizens of Trieste informing them of the possible consequences they would face supporting Trieste Libera, the movement which is struggling for the restoration of the Free Territory and for the acknowledgment of the actual temporary civil administration of bot Trieste and its international port.
Despite the media’s aggression lasting since more than one year, Trieste Libera doesn’t fall. And the awareness of the people of Trieste for their own rights rises. So, how to stop such rebels, fighting with the peaceful instruments of law and right? Trying to provoke them and showing them as terrorists.
The latest judgments emitted by administrative justice emphasized very well this jump of level. The appellants address the undeniable legal force of the Treaty of Peace of 1947 (it has also been executed by Italy and annexed to its own Constitution) whose art. 21 enacts the independence of Trieste from Italy. Justices reject such appeals calling “subversive” the appellants as these would be attempting to the unity of the State. And Italian press pictures the Movimento Trieste Libera (MTL) as an armed group ready to rebel against the Italian State. The source? According to Limes, which gave the news, this source is strictly anonymous.
Yet, this is enough for an interrogation to be immediately presented to the Minister of Domestic Policy of Italy, addressing him to repress MTL: this has been done by senator Francesco Russo of PD [Democratic Party] on March 18th, quoting the warning of Limes. In his interrogation, Russo directly indicates as “target” Roberto Giurastante, president of MTL , as the man expressed opinions disliked by the senator.
During the press conference of MTL, on February 10th, Giurastante recalled that not only European countries are entitled to claim rights on the International Port of Trieste, as even these extra UE do, for example, Russia. Russia is also a winning power of World War II, a signer of the Treaty of Peace which imposes the demilitarization and neutrality of the Free Territory of Trieste, which Italy is violating since sixty years, unpunished. And if Italy does not compel to the international treaties they subscribed, then the temporary civil administration of Zone A of the FTT must be taken from it and given back, as it was from 1947 to 1954, to an Allied Government (meaning to the powers which won World War II). And, among these, there actually is Russia. That’s it. Yet, apparently in an antidemocratic regime as Italy is, the very expression of one’s own opinions is a crime. If such opinions are disliked by those in power.
Eliminating Trieste Libera by any means to maintain the “status quo” of reiterated Italian illegality in Zone A of the FTT, it seems to be a compelling necessity of a State which is now seriously afraid to lose control on this territory, meaning on the strategic Port of Trieste. If Trieste doesn’t want Italy anymore, how can the Italian State legally oppose that? Here, in fact, there is no need to declare our independence, only, what has already been ratified must be applied.
So, the threatens against MTL became more and more direct. And public campaigns inciting hate against the movement and the physical elimination its leaders, became more and more unequivocal. And, obviously, this is tolerated, if not “encouraged” by the very Italian authorities. Our aggressors don’t even need to hide. All they must do is using an Italian tricolor flag against the hated enemies of MTL and their way is cleared.
To one of these patriotic associations, whose name is “Trieste Pro Patria” the police headquarter of Trieste allows without complains demonstrations and sit-ins under the headquarter of MTL. They wish for disorders. The “restrictive” prescriptions are given by the police superintendent of Trieste, Mr. Padulano, only when it comes to the “villains” of Trieste Libera. Even trying to block their very participation to the hearing In open Court in the Trial-house of Trieste.
Each hearing to which the members of MTL are present is armored by a massive presence of both police and Carabinieri. There they stay, to control common citizens considered “terrorists” by the Italian State”. To the last hearing on March 19th, regarding the discussion of the Memorandum of London, the DIGOS of Trieste created files about the persons willing to take part in the hearing. As if these persons were mafiosi.
No intervention made regarding the “friends” (of the security forces) belonging to “Trieste Pro Patria” which can so safely threaten the “public enemies” of MTL, these Italy wants to get out of the way. And to, to the “Italian patriots” Giurastante becomes “Giudastante” [a clear reference to Judas] to be “taken out of the way” with the – longed- support of judiciary authority, otherwise they’ll have to do that themselves… and they are going to hurt me.
Let that be.
